Author's Guidelines

Title Page

  • The title page contains the research article title. The title should be bold, written in English, and the first letter of each word (except for prepositions of three letters or fewer, per APA style capitalization rules) should be capitalized.
    Example: Predicting the Performance of Isabela State University in the Licensure Examination for Teachers Using ARIMA Modelling
  • It contains the complete name(s) of the author(s) (First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name), their emails, and affiliation (Program, department, institution, city, state, postal code, and country).
    Example: Bachelor of Secondary Education, College of Education, Isabela State University, Echague, Isabela, 3309, Philippines
  • It contains the abstract of the research article. The abstract should be 200 to 250 words, and should include:
    1. Introduction of research topic, context, gap, and major contribution of the study;
    2. General research objective(s) and/or question(s);
    3. Research methodology (design, sample/participants, data-collection techniques, and data analysis);
    4. Major findings of the research (key data points, trends or outcomes, and important implications);
    5. Conclusion and key recommendation(s) from the study’s findings.
  • It includes five (5) keywords, separated by commas.

Main Manuscript

The research article should be within 5,000 to 6,000 words in English and include the following components: Introduction; Method; Results and Discussion; Conclusions and Future Works; Acknowledgment; Conflict of Interest; References; and Authors’ Bio Notes. Manuscript text should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document. Use the journal’s template for formatting.

Introduction

  • The introduction should explain the research problem, including discussion of previous and current studies related to the issue, highlighting the research gap the study aims to fill.
  • The purpose and rationale of the study must be clearly stated, including the potential contribution of the article.
  • The objectives of the study should be clearly stated.
  • In-text citations should follow the 7th Edition of the APA format.

Methods

  • The methods section should include detailed discussion of: research design; participants/respondents; locale of the study; research instruments; data collection procedures; data analysis; and ethical considerations.
  • Each aspect should be in separate paragraphs (where applicable).
  • Sub-headings should follow the prescribed heading levels based on the 7th Edition APA format (especially heading level 2 for subsections).
  • If human participants are involved, the ethical considerations section must discuss informed consent, confidentiality and anonymity, ethical approval (e.g. by Institutional Review Board or Ethics Review Committee), conflict of interest, and participants’ rights.

Results and Discussion

  • This section should present key answers to the research objectives. Findings should be supported by figures and tables, which must be embedded within the document (not submitted as separate files).
  • Include interpretation of results, link findings to literature, discuss implications, potential applications, and directions for future research.
  • For qualitative studies: quotations from transcriptions — short quotations (fewer than 40 words) should be in quotation marks in the text; longer quotations should be formatted as block quotations, indented by 0.5 inches.
  • Each paragraph should be indented by 0.5 inches.

Conclusion and Future Works

  • This section should highlight practical implications of the study and their relevance to the existing body of knowledge.
  • Include acknowledgment of study limitations and potential impact of the results to allow others to explore further research possibilities.
  • May include suggestions for future research or possible applications/extensions of the study.

Acknowledgment

This section includes acknowledgments to individuals or funding agencies that contributed to the study. If no acknowledgment is necessary, this section may be omitted.

Conflict of Interest

This section is a declaration of personal or institutional financial and non-financial interests, editorial conflicts, funding/support transparency, institutional policies/procedures, and conflict mitigation measures. If no conflict exists, authors may use a statement such as: “The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this paper.”

References

  • The manuscript should include at least 15 references, preferably as recent as possible (within the last 5–10 years).
  • References must follow the 7th Edition of the APA format.
  • Examples for different reference types:
    • Journal Article: Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), pages. DOI or URL if available.
    • Book: Author, A. A., & Author B. B. (Year). Title of the Book (Edition). Publisher. DOI or URL if available.

Article Processing and Publication Fees

SJTER supports open access and academic inclusivity. As part of this commitment, there are no article processing charges (APCs) or publication fees. Submission, peer review, and publication are entirely free of charge for all authors.
